Colin Beavan is an author and filmaker best known as the "No Impact Man", his moniker during a project where he documented his attempt to live as environmentally sustainably as possible in New York City for a year.
For this web project, I created no traditional theme at all. Using the StudioPress Genesis framework (thank you WPE) I created one plugin to style and inject any necessary JS, and another plugin to render Gutenberg blocks for each of the seven (7!) landing pages. The advatange to doing everything in Gutenberg blocks is that it's super easy for a client to customize any corner of the site, and to visual the changes without touching the WP Customizer. Another advantage is that plugin deployment is super fast—each plugin runs from source through build on Circle CI in about 15 seconds. 🚀
